The month of March has passed like a gentle breeze over our farms — steady, warm, and full of quiet action. As the world around us rushes into summer, we at Kaadu Organics stayed rooted in the soil, tending to life with love, patience, and purpose.
From the Red Earth of Tirunelveli
There’s a certain scent in the air when Lakadong turmeric is freshly harvested — earthy, spicy, and deeply healing. This March, we carefully dug up and cleaned nearly 500 kg of this golden root at our Tirunelveli farm. Each rhizome felt like a promise — one that we’re excited to share.
Some of this turmeric will soon find its way to your kitchens, but the rest? We’re propagating it with farmers. Because sustainability grows stronger when shared.
Under the watchful shadows of our coconut trees, we also dug pits to prepare for the summer and ensure better water retention. Speaking of water — a quiet challenge emerged. Our solar borewell ran dry, reminding us how fragile and precious water truly is in farming life. It’s a pause for thought and action, as we look at better solutions for resilience.
Kodai Chronicles: Coffee, Cold Winds, and Quiet Work
Up in the misty heights of Kodaikanal, our last round of coffee bean harvest took place. The beans were handpicked, sun-dried, and cleaned with care. Nearly 80% sold out, the rest is kept aside — a treat for our loyal customers who know that every Kaadu bean tells a story of forest-kissed freshness.
Construction at the Kodai farmhouse moved slowly this month — not for lack of effort, but for the wait on centering materials. Still, it’s exciting to see plumbing items like closets and taps arriving, ready to be installed.
In between this, weeding continued, in rhythm with labor availability. Farming isn’t clockwork — it’s music. And we dance to it when the right hands are available.
Then came the rain. A surprise three-day shower that cooled the hills, freshened our spirits, and gave the trees a drink from the sky. In that moment, surrounded by dew and fog, we felt something special — a quiet joy that only nature gives.
Solaikaadu: A Chapter Closed with Smiles
Our Solaikaadu farm wrapped up weeding this month too. But there’s more — we measured and finalized all plots, and we’re happy to share that every single one has been booked. It’s a huge milestone, and we’re grateful for the community that’s growing with us, quite literally.
Why We Share This With You
At Kaadu Organics, we believe transparency is a form of respect. You deserve to know where your food comes from, how it’s grown, and what stories it carries in every grain, spice, and bean.
We’re not just a brand — we’re farmers, caretakers, storytellers, and learners. And every month, we take you behind the scenes because you are part of this journey.
Whether it’s golden turmeric from Tirunelveli or rich coffee from Kodaikanal, when you choose Kaadu, you choose a piece of land, love, and life.
