Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Karuppu Kavuni Raw Rice (Black Rice)
- 1/2 cup Jaggery Powder (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder
- 2 tbsp Grated Coconut
- Water – as needed for soaking and cooking
How to Make Karuppu Kavuni Halwa
- Soak Karuppu Kavuni rice overnight or for at least 6–8 hours.
- Drain and pressure cook the soaked rice with enough water for 4–5 whistles, or until soft and fully cooked.
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, add the cooked rice, jaggery powder, cardamom powder, and grated coconut.
- Stir continuously on low flame until the jaggery melts and blends well with the rice mixture.
- Cook until the halwa thickens and begins to leave the sides of the pan.
- Serve warm, topped with a drizzle of ghee—or enjoy it as a naturally sweet, wholesome dessert!
