Varagu Upma Recipe (Simple & Daily Use)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup kodo millet (varagu)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 green chilli
  • Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt as needed
  • Oil

 

How to Prepare

  1. Heat oil, add mustard seeds and curry leaves
  2. Add onion and green chilli, sauté lightly
  3. Add water and salt, bring to boil
  4. Add washed varagu millet slowly
  5. Cook on low flame until soft and fluffy
  6. Serve hot

 

Varagu Dosa (Healthy Breakfast)

Steps

  1. Soak varagu millet and urad dal for 4–5 hours
  2. Grind into smooth batter
  3. Ferment overnight
  4. Make dosa on a hot pan and cook until crisp
