Ingredients

  • 1 cup little millet (saamai)
  • ½ cup moong dal
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Ginger (small piece, chopped)
  • Salt as needed
  • Water

 

How to Prepare

  1. Dry roast moong dal lightly
  2. Wash saamai and dal together
  3. Add water and cook until soft
  4. Heat ghee, add cumin, pepper, and ginger
  5. Mix into cooked millet and add salt
  6. Serve hot

  1. Heat oil, add mustard seeds and curry leaves
  2. Add chopped vegetables (optional)
  3. Add water and salt, bring to boil
  4. Add little millet slowly and mix well
  5. Cook until soft and fluffy
