Red Chilli Harvest
During the first week of June, we focused on harvesting red chillies. The fresh chillies were then spread out to dry, monitored closely to ensure they dried evenly and thoroughly.
As we mentioned in our previous blog, the challenges of excessive weed growth. Despite these difficulties, we harvested chillies. However, because weeds competed for resources, the chillies turned out smaller than expected.
Drying and Storing Red Chillies
Once harvested, the red chillies were kept for drying. After they were adequately dried, we separated debris from the dried chillies and stored them safely.
Removing Banana Suckers
In our banana field, suckers were removed to ensure healthy growth of the main plants. This process helps to focus nutrients and resources on the primary banana plants, promoting better yield and overall health.
Collecting Dried Coconut Leaves
Dried coconut leaves were collected and gathered in a designated area for future use.
We dehusked coconut shells and collected them multiple times during the month, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
Copra Processing
Copra was removed from the shells and prepared for further processing.
