Ingredients

  • 1 cup barnyard millet (kuthiraivali)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 green chilli
  • Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt as needed
  • Oil

 

How to Prepare

  1. Rinse and soak millet for 20–30 minutes
  2. Heat oil, add mustard seeds and curry leaves
  3. Add onion and green chilli, sauté lightly
  4. Add water and salt, bring to boil
  5. Add millet slowly and mix well
  6. Cook until soft and fluffy
  7. Serve hot

Steps

  1. Cook millet with moong dal until soft
  2. Heat ghee, add cumin, pepper, and ginger
  3. Mix into cooked millet
  4. Serve warm
