Description
A common cereal grain in Asia and Africa is called foxtail millet or thinai arisi. In Southeast Asian countries like India and China, it’s a common meal that’s used to make bread, porridge, and other dishes.

How to use
Millet Khichdi
Steps:
- Both moong dal and navane millet should be rinsed before soaking in water for half an hour.
- In a pressure cooker, heat the oil, add the cumin seeds,
- Add the ginger and onions, and cook until the onions become transparent.
- After adding the diced tomato, sauté it till it becomes soft.
- Add the drained millet, moong dal, turmeric powder, and salt to taste. Stir thoroughly.
- Add 4 cups of water, then pressure cook on high for 4 whistles.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
