Puttu Flour:

In order to prepare red rice puttu flour, roast and grind the red rice grains coarsely. This results in flour with a high nutritional content and a pleasant aroma. It contains several anthocyanins, including flavonoid antioxidants like quercetin, myricetin, and aparendin.

Red Rice Flour, 2 cups Freshly grated coconut, 1 cup Salt to taste Warm water, 1 cup


1. Mix salt with warm water.

2. Take the flour into a bowl. Add warm water little by little and mix well. The mixture should be wet and crumbly.

3. Take the puttu maker. Place coconut in the base, top with rice flour mix, and top with more coconut and rice flour.

4. Place in the steamer and cook for 10 minutes.

5. Unmold and serve
