Red Rice Palm Jaggery Halwa | Healthy Karupatti Halwa Recipe

Palm Jaggery Halwa (Karupatti Halwa) is a classic South Indian sweet that’s rich, earthy, and packed with nutrition. Made using Kaadu’s 100% Organic Red Rice Idiyappam Flour, pure Palm Jaggery, and fresh coconut milk, this melt-in-the-mouth dessert is both traditional and healthy.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup Idiyappam Flour (Red Rice)
  • ¾ cup Palm Jaggery (Karupatti)
  • 3 tbsp Ghee
  • ¾ cup Water (to mix flour)
  • 1 cup Water (to melt jaggery)
  • 1 cup Thin Coconut Milk
  • A pinch of Salt
  • ¼ tsp Cardamom Powder
  • Nuts for garnishing (cashews or almonds)

Karupatti Halwa Recipe Steps

  1. Melt the Palm Jaggery in 1 cup of water, strain to remove impurities, and set aside.
  2. In a separate pan, mix Kaadu Idiyappam Flour with ¾ cup water and thin coconut milk to form a smooth mixture without lumps.
  3. Add the strained jaggery syrup into this mixture and stir continuously.
  4. Add ghee gradually while stirring until the halwa thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  5. Add cardamom powder for flavor and mix well.
  6. Garnish with roasted nuts and serve warm.
