How to cook poha
A wholesome and comforting dessert made with the goodness of Kaadu Jaggery Powder and nutrient-rich Navara Aval (flattened red rice) / Red poha. This traditional South Indian sweet is a quick fix for your sweet cravings—perfect for a nourishing snack or a light dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Navara Aval (flattened rice)
- ½ cup Kaadu Jaggery Powder
- 2 tbsp grated coconut
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp ghee
- Nuts and raisins for garnish
- 350ml boiled milk
How to cook poha
- Rinse the Navara Aval thoroughly and soak it in water for 5–10 minutes until softened.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the soaked Aval with grated coconut, cardamom powder, and Kaadu Jaggery Powder. Mix well.
- In a separate pan, heat ghee and lightly roast the nuts and raisins until golden. Add the boiled milk to this mixture.
- Combine the milk and ghee mixture with the Aval blend. Stir gently and serve warm.
